Yes Spring!

Notice the geese in these next few pictures.

These pictures may not depict what we think of as a typical spring.  As you see it's late in coming here too this year.  One sure sign of spring on the river is the beginning of shipping season.  It has been fun watching them plow through the thick ice.  We have also seen and heard many spring water foul.  As always God has shown me a little bit of heaven in the beauty around me.

Sarah Young wrote this in "Jesus Calling" today:

Heaven is both present and future.  As you walk along your life-path holding My hand, you are already in touch with the essence of heaven: nearness to Me.  You can also find many hints of heaven along your pathway, because the earth is radiantly alive with My Presence.  Shimmering sunshine awakens your heart, gently reminding you of My brilliant Light.  Birds and flowers, trees and skies evoke praises to My holy Name.  Keep your eyes and ears fully open as you Journey with Me.

At the end of your life-path is an entrance to heaven.  Only I know when you will reach that destination, but I am preparing you for it each step of the way.  The absolute certainty of your heavenly home gives you Peace and Joy, to help you along your journey.  You know that you will reach your home in My perfect timing: not one moment too soon or too late.  Let the hope of heaven encourage you, as you walk along the path of Life with Me.

Icebreaker Mackinaw

We have been watching this icebreaker for two days.  My husband has been waiting for this day since the shipping season closed on January 15.  It will officially reopen at midnight tonight.  The ice across the river was solid and thick and at times caused the Mackinaw to come to a complete stop.  It had to back up and try again.  They accomplished their mission with a track wide enough for a ship to transit.  We should see our first ship pass down bound tomorrow afternoon or evening.  The snow covered ice on the river has been beautiful, but I am ready for open water...the eagles have already found it ;)!!

Whiter Than Snow

Yes, there is still snow here and I must say I am ready for warm sun with open windows.  But I still love waking up in the morning to see a fresh layer of snow covering everything!  It is a reminder of God's goodness!   Psalm 51:7b..."wash me, and I will be whiter than snow".  Rev 3:4b..."They will walk with Me, dressed in white, for they are worthy".  Rev 7:13-14..."These in white robes - who are they"...?   What is white?  It's the absence of color...you can't mix colors to create white.  It is the opposite of black.   White is color at its most complete.  It is pure, perfect, innocent, clean and whole.  "Whiter than snow" is a description of the redeemed made white in the blood of the Lamb!  Jesus will take the ugly sins I have in my life and wash them away - just as new fallen white snow makes the world new.  I am only worthy of the white robe because He made me worthy.  It was nothing I did or could ever do on my own.  Thanking You Jesus that Your creation exemplifies this and many other Truths!
