Radiance of God's Glory

God..."has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe.  The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word."  (Hebrews 1:2b - 3b)

"He (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.  For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities;  all things were created by Him and for Him.  He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together." (Colossians 1:15 to 17)

God is light...Jesus is God...therefore Jesus is light.  Jesus doesn't just reflect God's glory...we actually see God when we see Jesus.  When we know Jesus we know God.  "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.  We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only Who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." (John 1:14)

"For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness" made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ." (2 Corinthians 4:6b)

Radiance does not mean reflect...it means to illuminate.  As a believer Jesus is in me.  Am I allowing Jesus's radiance to shine through me in this dark world?  I am so thankful His light shines out of darkness!!!
